SAMetal Company was founded in 1987 by outstanding professionals in iron and steel trade and now is the group of companies represented by several offices worldwide. The years between 1991 and 1995 were marked by very rapid growth. During this period, SAMetal's staff tripled while business volume increased tenfold.

In 1993-1995, the expansion of business prompted SAMetal group of companies to establish several offices in Moscow, Russia; Kiev and Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine; Tbilisi, Georgia; Cairo, Egypt; HongKong; New York, USA. A number of agent's agreements has been signed for marketing SAMetal's steel products and commodities into Middle and Far East countries. The company was in the leading group to introduce some steel products ex-CIS to American market and especially to Turkey.

Between 1996 and 1998 the bulk of SAMetal's activity was connected with the financing and raw materials supply to some Ukrainian and Russian mills which allowed the Company to gain experience with the products of ZaporozhStal (Zaporozhye), Dzerzhinsky Mill (Dneprodzerzhinsk, Ukraine), as well as products from MMK (Magnitogorsk), Illich Mill (Mariupol), Krivoy Rog, Beloretsk.
